Listen, let your Heart Keep Seeking | Listen to the Spirit Calling You

This is a gentle hymn which invites listening to the voice of God and the call of the Holy Spirit, especially in creation.

It was written by Indian Roman Catholic priest, musician, liturgist and composer, Aniceto Nazareth (1938-2021), and first published by Kevin Mayhew Ltd, England in 1984.   It was later included in Songs of the Spirit Volume 3 - Songs and hymns of renewal also published by Kevin Mayhew Ltd in 1987 - and 2nd-hand copies of this book are the only known source of sheet music for the song.

It is set to an unnamed tune, also by Nazareth. This has a 4/4 time signature. In the key of Em the first few notes of the melody are B B_  GA B c B B A.

Lyrics

The lyrics are copyright so cannot be reproduced here. But they are currently available on this website. A rough outline is:
Chorus:
Listen, let your heart keep seeking;
Listen to his constant speaking;
Listen to the Spirit calling you.
Listen to his inspiration;
Listen to his invitation;
Listen to the Spirit calling you.

1.   He’s in the sound of the thunder, in the whisper of the breeze.
He’s in the might of the whirlwind, in the roaring of the seas.

2.   He’s in the laughter of children, in the patter of the rain.
Hear him in cries of the suff’ring, in their moaning and their pain

3.  He’s in the noise of the city, in the singing of the birds.
And in the night-time the stillness helps you listen to his word.
