Magnificat - My Soul Doth Magnify the Lord

This hymn is closely based on Mary's Magnificat (Luke 1:46-49).  The second part of the first verse is often repeated at the end.  It is sometimes known as "My soul does magnify the Lord".

The author and composer are unknown.   

• It was sung in New Zealand during the 1970s, and the first two verses were included in Scripture in Song, Volume 1 collection which was published in New Zealand in 1979.   
• It was included on a 1969 religious folk songs recording by The Keyhole for a coffeehouse ministry near Houston, Texas in the USA.  The album label etc included attributions for all other songs, but none for this one:  Even then, the author was unknown.   (Source: Discogs).
