This is Jesus, Emmanuel

This is a hymn about Jesus in the Eucharist

It was written by American Roman Catholic musician, vocalist and music-director / worship-director, Jim Cowan (b 1952), and first published by International Liturgy Publications in 1987.   Sheet music is still available from them in various formats - link below.

It is set to an unnamed tune, also by Cowan.  This has a 4/4 time signature. In the key of C, the first few notes of the melody are C D E G G__ / G A G G__ with accompanying chords C2 C F C.

Lyrics

The lyrics are copyright so cannot be reproduced here. But they are currently available on this website. A rough outline is:
Chorus:
This is Jesus, Emmanuel.
God is with us in this sacrament,
come receive him, adore him.
This is Jesus, our Lord.

1. Bright Star of David radiance of God ...

2. Drink of living water flowing from the Lord: ...

3. Priest of highest honour, King and sovereign Lord ...
Unblemished Lamb of sacrifice, your very life outpoured.
Royal Paschal victim, true begotten Son,
offered as our ransom by the Holy One.

KEEP IN CASE ORIGINAL IS REMOVED, BUT DO NOT DISPLAY Chorus:
This is Jesus, Emmanuel.
God is with us in this sacrament,
come receive him, adore him.
This is Jesus, our Lord.

1. Bright Star of David radiance of God,
now become the living bread, the body of our Lord.
Come in adoration receive with joyful heart
the sacrament most holy the banquet of the Lamb.

2. Drink of living water flowing from the Lord:
taste the cup of blessing, partake of precious blood.
River of salvation, Holy cleansing tide,
fountain of redemption flowing from the Savior’s side.

3. Priest of highest honour, King and sovereign Lord.
Unblemished Lamb of sacrifice, your very life outpoured.
Royal Paschal victim, true begotten Son,
offered as our ransom by the Holy One.
