All that I Am, All that I Do (Temple)

Chalice of wine and unleavened bread - the offertory of the Mass. All that I am, all that I do, All that I'll ever have, I offer now to you. Take and sanctify these gifts For your honour, Lord. Knowing that I love and serve you Is enough reward. All that I am, all that I do, All that I'll ever have I offer now to you. All that I dream, all that I pray, All that I'll ever make, I give to you today.
This simple hymn about offering the totality of one-self to God was written by South African born folk musician Sebastian Temple (1928-1997).

It was copyright 1967 by Franciscan Publications, and in 1971 included on a recording on Temple's songs, "Sing People of God Sing".

Early publications in the UK were in the 20th Century Folk Hymnal Volume 1 and Hymns Old and New - A Hymnbook for the Irish Church  and it is still included in Hymns Old and New today - purchasing this book is the best way to get sheet-music for the song.

Today the copyright is managed by OCP Publications, At the time of writing it is not on their website (so you cannot buy sheet music for them), and it is not listed in CCLI's SongSearch tool.  But it is covered by LicenSing Online.

It is set to an un-named tune, also by Temple, which is set in a major key; it was originally published in D, with starting notes of D A, D E.

Lyrics

The lyrics are copyright so cannot be reproduced here. But they are currently available on this website - along with guitar chords for the song.

The song has two verses. Each verse has two lines and there is a six-line chorus.   In the original recording, the ordering is verse-1, verse-2, chorus, verse-1, chorus.    Today most people simply sing each verse followed by the chorus..

A rough outline is:
1 All that I am, all that I do ...

Chorus:
Take and sanctify these gifts
... All that I'll ever have I offer now to you.

2 All that I dream, all that I pray ...
