This song was written by American country / pop singer-songwriter Jenn Bostic, in memory of her father who was killed in a car-crash when she was ten (ref).
While it expresses religious themes, it is not strictly speaking a hymn. But it is very popular for funerals, especially ones where people have died tragically or unexpectedly, and is usually sung by a soloist.
It has been recorded by a number of artists, including Irish singer Donna Taggart who has has a recent UK hit with it.
