In Moments Like These I Sing out a Song

This short folk-style worship song which expresses love for Jesus in the current moment, was written in northwest Montana (ref) by (presumably American worship leader and composer) David Graham (b 1948).

It was first published in 1980  by C. A. Music, a division of C. A. Records, and has since been covered by a great many artists, and is used in many churches.

It is set to an unnamed tune by Graham. This has a 3/4 time signature. In the key of D, the first few notes are F A A B D_

Hymn books where it has been published include:
  • Complete Mission Praise, 2000
  • Songs of Fellowship 1, 1991
  • The Celebration Hymnal, Word Music / Integrity, 1997
  • African American Heritage Hymnal, GIA Publications, 2001

It has been translated to Spanish as "En momentos asi" - and likely into other languages also.

Green grass - like there grass where David Graham watched children playing and was inspired to write - In moments like these I sing out a song, I sing out a love song to Jesus. In moments like these I lift up my hands, I lift up my hands to the Lord. Singing I love You, Lord. Singing I love You, Lord. Singing I love You, Lord, I love You
