It was written by South African folk musician and lay Franciscan, Sebastian Temple, and was included on the recording "Sing People of God" released by Franciscian Communications in the USA in 1967 (ref).
It was included in the Nigerian Catholic Hymn Book, but has not been located in any other hymn books.
