The song was first published by Kevin Mayhew Limited in 1976 in the 20th Century Folk Hymnal Volume 2. In-print hymnals which it is published in inlcude:
The un-named tune, also by White, has a 3/4 time signature and a waltz rhythm. In the key of G, the first few notes are B A, B D C# D GFG b.
