My Soul is Longing for your Peace - Deiss

This is a setting of Psalm 130 (131). It was written by French Roman Catholic Spiritan (Holy Ghost) priest and composer Lucien Deiss CSSp (1921-2007).

It was first published in 1965 by World Library Publications and sheet music is still available from them and through SheetMusicPlus (link below).

It is set to an unnamed tune, also by Deiss. This is a chant based setting, changing time signature several times. If it is thought of in the key of Dm, the first few notes if the refrain are A AA cc AG F, with accompanying chords F / Am / Bb / Dm.

Israel, put all your hope in God, Place all your trust in him, now and evermore.
