Because there are so many setting of the text, it is usually known as the Clapping Gloria, after the rhythm-indication in the chorus. Some people use it mainly as a hymn, or a setting of the Glory to God, for children.

When a group of people are singing this hymn, it is good to agree in advance how to pronounce "excelsis": options include "egg-shell-sis" "x-kell-sis" etc: In formal choirs, the music-director usually tells people what to do for this word.
