They Disbelieved for Joy

This hymn describes the disciples reaction when Jesus revealed himself to them after the Resurrection, Luke 24:35-48.

It was written by English born and educated poet, and later American Episcopal minister's wife, Rae E. Whitney (b. 1927). It was first published by Selah Publishing Co. in 2000, and is included in GIA Publication's Worship

With meter, it is set to the tune FESTAL SONG by William H. Walter (1872).
