The song was written in 1999 by British Anglican worship leader, singer, songwriter and later ordained priest Tim Hughes (b 1977). It was the title track of one of his albums, and has been covered by many other Christian recording artists - to the extent that it is often incorrectly attributed to Michael W Smith, Hillsong et al.
It is set to an unnamed tune, also by Hughes. This has a 4/4 (common) time signature. In the key of E, the first few notes of the melody are G_ GA F_ FG A_ AG FE. The verses follow the chord progression E / B / F♯m / A / E / B / A, the chorus follows the progression E / B / C♯m / A, and the bridge follows the progression B / E / A.

Lyrics
The lyrics are copyright so cannot be reproduced here. But they are currently available on this website. A rough outline is:1 Light of the world, you stepped down into darkness
Chorus:
And here I am to worship
Here I am to bow down
Here I am to say that You're my God.
You're altogether lovely, altogether worthy
Altogether wonderful to me.
2 King of all days, oh, so highly exalted
* I'll never know how much it cost, to see my sin upon that cross.
