Santo, Santo, Santo Padre Pio

This hymn is an English-language translation of an Italian hymn of intercession to Padre Pio.   It was was apparently written as the official hymn for his canonization, although no official documents have been found to confirm this.

If you have any information about it, especially who wrote the song, and what tune it is sung to, please leave a message in the Comments box near the bottom of the page.

Lyrics

Chorus:
Santo, Santo, Santo Padre Pio,
Glory, glory, glory and praise to God.
Santo, Santo, Santo Padre Pio,
Glory, glory, glory and praise to God.

1 If I feel alone, with a sense of feeling abandoned,
I search for you along the way.
Your suffering and your simplicity
help me to continue singing,

2 You stretch out your hands to those who ask your help.
You warm our hearts with your goodness.
With your caresses and your smile
you bring such light upon us.

* I am here and you know why...
I want to sing to you...
