Ever Blessed our Saviour

This is a hymn for Palm Sunday, which is based on an excerpt from the liturgical text known as the Benedictus. This in turn based on Matthew 21:9.

The translator of the English verse is unknown.

It was published in The Veritas Hymnal, set to a tune referred to as the LOURDES BENEDICTUS.  This is slightly adapted from a Benedictus setting by French priest and choirmaster at Lourdes, Noël Darros (1876-1954 - ref).
