May You Run And Not Be Weary

This is a benediction song based on, Isaiah 40:31.  It is suitable for the end of church service or event, or for farewell or commissioning services.

It was written in 1991 by Paul Murakami (b 1952) and Handt Hanson  (b 1950):  No further information has been located about them.  However the song was published in two Methodist hymn books (Sing the Faith and The Faith we Sing, with the copyright owner listed as The Changing Church Forum which is associated with a Lutheran congregation in the USA - or it's likely they are from an American Methodist or Lutheran background.

The song was first published in 1996.

With irregular meter it is set to a tune called PRINCE OF PEACE which Murakami and Hanson wrote for the text.  This has a 4/4 time signature. In the key of G, the first few notes of the melody are D C B, D GG BB_
