Father Make us One

This is a short worship chorus, petitioning for Christian unity. It is based on John17:21.

It was written by American born worship song writer, Rick Ridings (b 1955) in 1975.

The only publication located so far is in Scripture in Song - Songs of Praise - Volume 1, published by Scripture in Song, New Zealand in 1979 - but it's likely there were other US publishers.
The song is set to an unnamed tune, also by Ridings. This has a 3/4 time signature. In the key of Ab, the first few notes of the melody are E_ E F_ A G__   with accompanying chords Ab / Db / Eb7.

The lyrics are copyright so cannot be reproduced here. But they are currently available on this website. A rough outline is:
Father make us one,
Father, make us one,
That the world may know
Thou hast sent the Son,
Father, make us one.

Behold how pleasant and how good it is
For brethren to dwell in unity,
For there the Lord commands the blessing,
Life forever more.

KEEP IN CASE ORIGINAL IS REMOVED, BUT DO NOT DISPLAY Father make us one,
Father, make us one,
That the world may know

Father, make us one.

Behold how pleasant and how good it is
For brethren to dwell in unity,
For there the Lord commands the blessing,
Life forever more.
