The tune is Beethoven's ODE TO JOY. The first four lines are used as a peace-focussed refrain, while the second four carry the substance of the Glory to God.
The text is not exact: some words have been omitted in order to match the words and the tune, and the setting has not been submitted for publication.
However it may be useful in situations where a well-known tune with refrain are needed for the "Gloria".

On-line samplesThere are no on-line recordings of the hymn at the moment - they will be added as they become available. However the following are instrumental versions of the tune.
Glory to God in the highest,
Peace to people of good will
And on earth, peace to people
Peace to people of of good will.
We praise you,
We bless you,
We adore you, we glorify you,
We give thanks for your great glory,
Lord God, O heavenly King,
O God, almighty Father.
Lord Jesus Christ, begotten Son,
Lord God, Lamb of God,
Son of the Father, holy one.
You take away the sins of the world,
Have mercy on us; receive our prayer;
You are seated at the right hand
Have mercy, Holy One,
You alone are the Lord,
You alone, the Most High Christ,
With the Spirit, in the glory
Of the Father. Amen.
Note: the chorus is not repeated at the end.
