Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord (Holy is the Lord God Almighty)

The author and composer of this praise-chorus style hymn are unknown.   It as been in use since the 1970s(at least, likely earlier): a version with the tune only slightly different to the one here was included in Songs of Praise from Scripture in Song - 1973.

Because tbe words mention Christ's death, resurrection and coming-again, the first verse is sometimes used as the Sanctus in liturgical services, although the lyrics are a little different from many of the standard translations.  It can also be used as a general praise hymn, with extra verses ("mighty", "worthy" added as necessary.

There are a number of small variations of the tune in use around the world - both the melody line, and the accompaniment.

Finding on-line examples is difficult, because the phrases in this song have been used in a number of contemporary Christian music songs by the likes of Chris Tomlin, Hillsong, etc.    If you have a link to an example, please leave a comment below.
