We Shall be as One

This is a very short worship song about unity

It was written by Joan Parsons, and first published in 1978 by ThankYou Music of Eastbourne, England.  Later, it was included in Scripture in Song, Volume II, Songs of the Kingdom and 2nd-hand copies of this appear to be the only current source of sheet music.   Please leave a message in the Comments box at the bottom of the page if you know of any other sources.

The text includes a reference to people as God's chosen "sons", and there is no obvious way to make this language inclusive.

The un-named tune by Parsons has a 6/8 time signature, and was originally published in the key of D. In this key, the first few notes of the melody are D E F G A_.

We shall be as one. We shall be as one.1 He the Father of us all, we His chosen sons. And by His command, take each other's hand, Live our lives in unity, we shall be as one. 2 And by this shall all men know of the work he has done. Love will take us on, through His precious son; Love of him who first loved us; we shall be as one.
