Into One we all are Gathered (Where charity and love are)

This is a hymn about unity in Christ.  It is based on the Latin hymn, Ubi Caritas.

It was written by English folk-hymn writer Michael Cockett (b 1938).

A recording of the song was originally released in 1969 by Sacred Heart Publications, England. It was then included in Mayhew-McCrimmon's Sing a New Song to the Lord, 1970.   Later it was included in Hymns Old and New for the Irish Church published in 1977, and McCrimmon's Celebration Hymnal for Everyone 2012 edition, which is still available today.

The hymn is set to a tune called CARITAS by Eric Welch.   This has a 2/2 time signature. In the key of F, the first few notes are C C F EF G F E

Sing a New Song recommends it for Palm Sunday in Year C, the 6th Sunday of Easter in years A & B, and for Holy Thursday.

1 Into one we all are gathered through the love of Christ. Let us then rejoice with gladness. In Him we find love. Let us fear and love the living God, and love and cherish humankind.Chorus: Where charity and love are, there is God. 2 Therefore, when we are together in the love of Christ, Let our minds know no division, strife or bitterness, my Christ our God be in our midst. Through Christ our Lord all love is found. 3 May we see Your face in glory, Christ our loving God. With the blessed saints of heaven give us lasting joy. We will then posses true happiness, and love for all eternity.
