The song was published in the Alive-O primary school religious education programme which was written in Ireland during the 1990s - possibly it was written specifically for this programme.
It is included in the publication Music to Honour God's Name which features liturgical music from Alive-O. This book attributes the words and tune to Cyril Murphy. It was also included in In Caelo, an Irish hymn book published in 1999. This also attributes the song to Murphy, but states that the Irish Episcopal Commission owns the copyright.
The hymn is widely used in First Communion programmes in Ireland.
Lift up your hearts to Jesus.
Walk tall in the love of Jesus.
Do this in memory of Him, of Him.
Do this memory of Jesus.
1. Take bread and wine, blessed and broken,
Live in your life the words He has spoken.
2. Trust in His love, walk in His ways,
Share with the world His peace, His praise.
