One Love Released

This is a gentle folk-style Eucharistic hymn.

It was written by American Roman Catholic church-musicians and composers Kevin Keil and Robert H. Frenze, and originally published in 1999 by OCP.

It is set to an unnamed tune: the chorus is adapted to the traditional tune O WALY WALY.  This tune is well-known as "The Water is Wide" but has been used for many hymns.

The tune has a 4/4 time signature. In the key of F, the first few notes are C F G A_ A_.

Chorus:
One bread, one body, one cup, one call,
One faith, one Spirit, present in us all.
One prayer, one blessing, one hope, one peace,
One church, one people, One love released.

1 Is not this bread we share ...

2 I am the bread of life ...

3 I am the living bread...

4 No one will come to me ...

Chorus:
One bread, one body, one cup,
One call, one faith, one Spirit, present in us all.
One prayer, one blessing, one hope,
One peace, one church, one people, One love released.

Is not this bread we share,
The body of our Lord?
Is not this wine we drink,
The blood of Christ out-poured?

I am the bread of life,
Eat and you shall live.
To those who share this meal,
My strength I’ll always give.

I am the living bread,
As Manna from the sky.
This bread I give to you,
That you may never die.

No one will come to me,
Unless our God has led.
And I shall raise them up,
Raise them from the dead!
