Majesty (worship his majesty) - Hayford

Statue of Chris the King against a blue sky, topped with a crown. Majesty, worship his majesty; unto Jesus be all glory, honour, and praise. Majesty, kingdom authority, flow from his throne unto his own, his anthem raise. So exalt, lift up on high the name of Jesus. Magnify, come glorify Christ Jesus, the King. Majesty, worship his majesty, Jesus who died, now glorified, King of all kings.
This short worship chorus about Jesus' kingship was written by American Pentecostal minister/pastor, song-writer and university chancellor Jack W Hayford (b 1934).

It was originally published by Rockford Music, and is now distributed by New Spring.

It was based on Ephesians 2:1-6, and the first parts of it were written when Hayford and his wife visited England in 1977, touring sights with historic significance to the English monarchy:  Hayford linked the symbols and images associated with them hymn royal to the ideas of kingship which Jesus taught (ref).

The song was first published in 1981, and spread rapidly across denominational boundaries: Commentators have suggested that this is because images of royalty / monarchy are main way that some faith traditions visualise God and Jesus Christ - even in countries where monarchy has never been part of the political system.

Hymn-books which the song has been published in include:
and likely many other books used in American Pentecostal churches.

The unnamed tune, also by Hayford, has a 4/4 time signature. In the key of C, the first few notes are  c B B_  ccc cc_ A with accompanying chords   C  --  Dm  --  C/E  --  F.
