Jesus Come to Us - Haas

Titian, Salvator Mundi - Christ Blessing c. 1570- Jesus Come to us - Chorus: Jesis, come to us; lead us to your light. Jesus, be with us, for we need you. 1 Lord, we come before you, listen to our prayer. Fill us all with hope and your love. 2 Lord, we come to praise you for your faithfulness through night. You will be with us; this we know. 3 Lord, you give us wonders,Your glory to all. We believe in you; come to us.
This gentle, reflective hymn of petition, asking for Jesus presence, was written by American Roman Catholic liturgical musician and composer David Haas (b 1957).

It can be used at Advent - but is suitable for any season of the year.

It was originally published in 1981 by OCP (unlike his later work which is mainly published by GIA), and sheet music is still available from them.

The song is set to an unnamed tune, also by Haas. This has a 4/4 time signature. In the key of F, the first few notes are C F F_ G GA B_ with accompanying chords   F -- Bb -- C/E  --  F
