Lion of Judah on the Throne - Sandquist

This worship song was written by American evangelical worship leader, singer, songwriter, and guitarist Ted Sandquist (ref).

It is based on an image of Jesus as Lion of Judah, which is presented in Revelation 5:5.

Copyright was registered in 1976 by Lion of Judah Music/John T. Benson Music, and the song was included in the "Courts of the King" album released in 1977 by the Love Inn community in Freeville, New York (ref).

The song was later recorded by lay-Franciscan troubadour John Michael Talbot:  his books Songs for Worship and Scripture in Song Volume 2 (both now out of print, but 2nd hand copies may be available) are the only source of sheet music which has been located.

It is set to an unnamed tune by Sandquist. This has a cut-common time signature. In the key of C, the first few notes are G G GG G F E F G_

Lyrics

The lyrics are copyright so cannot be reproduced here. But they are currently available on this website. A rough outline is:
Lion of Judah on the throne
I shout Your name, let it be known
That You are the King of kings
You are the Prince of Peace
May Your kingdom's reign never cease
Hail to the King!
Hail to the King!

Lion of Judah come to earth
I want to thank You for Your birth
For the living Word
For Your death on the tree
For Your resurrection victory
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!

Lion of Judah, come again
Take up Your throne Jerusalem
Bring release to this earth
And the consummation
Of Your kingdom's reign, let it come
Maranatha! Maranatha!

Lion of Judah on the throne
I shout Your name, let it be known
That You are the King of kings
You are the Prince of Peace
May Your kingdom's reign never cease
Hail to the King!
Hail to the King!
You are my King!

Usually, the first verse is repeated as verse 4.
