It was first published in the United Kingdom in "100 Hymns for Today" a supplement to Hymns Ancient and Modern in 1969. In 1978, Hope Publishing Company released it in the USA.

- FARLEY CASTLE by Henry Lawes (1596-1662)
- MORCAMBE by Frederick C. Atkinson (1870)
- WOODLANDS by Walter Greatorex (1877-1949) - best known as the tune of Tell Out my Soul - and very commonly used in version of this hymn that have been loaded to YouTube
- CHILSWELL by Gustav Theodore Holst
- MALVERN HILLS by David Iliff (b 1939)
