O Mary Gentle One

This is a children's hymn about Mary.   It is claimed to be "the song Mother Teresa sang to Mary every night" (ref).

It was written by English Roman Catholic teacher and liturgical musician Francesca Leftley (b 1955), and first published in the 20th Century Folk Hymnal, Volume 3, released by Kevin Mayhew Ltd in the United Kingdom in 1976.  Later it was included in "Our Songs:  a hymn book for Catholic Schools" published in 1998.   This book is still available for purchase, and is the only known place to find sheet-music for this song.

The hymn is set to an unnamed tune, also by Leftley. This has a 4/4 time signature. In the key of C, the first few notes are G F E F E D_ with accompanying chords C / F / Am.
