It was written by Australian teacher and
singer-songwriter Brian Boniwell (contact details
here), and first published in 1978, in a collection called "The Lord Delights" by
Australian Carmelite Paul Gurr, released by Spectrum Publications. Later it was
included in "People of the Resurrection", a CD and songbook collection which was
self-published by Boniwell in 1998. The range of recordings on YouTube
show it has been used well beyond Australia.
The song is set to an unnamed tune, also by Boniwell. This has a 3/4 time signature. In the key of D, the first few notes of the verse are A, F G A AE E_ A, D E F FC C_ with accompanying chords D / A / Bm / F#m
