Those Who See Light - Osuna

This is a hymn about light and God's love.

It was was written by Mexican-American Roman Catholic priest E Donald (Don) Osuna (b 1936) when he was working in Oakland, California.    It was originally published by OCP in 1972 and re-released in 1978.

It was included in Glory and Praise 3rd edition, volume 21, but does not appear to have been very widely used or published between the 1980s and 2010, but has been used in a number of places in the last ten years, and is sometimes suggested for funerals.

The hymn is sometimes published in the Breaking Bread series.  Sheet music is still available from OCP (link below).

It is set to an unnamed tune by Nancy Elze.  This has a 4/4 time signature. In the key of Em, the first few notes are F E D F_  F G_ F G E_  with accompanying chords D / Bm / Em / A.

Chorus:
Those who see light can walk in the dark.
Those who see love can see God.
1.   Those who look up will discover God's face,
... will see God's return.

2.   Those who have witnessed the sunrise and set ...

3.   Those who see good in each person they meet ...

KEEP IN CASE ORIGINAL IS REMOVED, BUT DO NOT DISPLAY
1. Those who see light can walk in the dark.
Those who see love can see God.
Those who look up will discover God's face,
those who look down will uncover God's path,
those who perceive God is here with us now
will see God's return.
2. Those who see light can walk in the dark.
Those who see love can see God.
Those who have witnessed the sunrise and set,
those who have studied a flower unfold,
those who have focused on land, sea, and sky
have seen Jesus Christ.

3. Those who see light can walk in the dark.
Those who see love can see God.
Those who see good in each person they meet,
those who look after their neighbors in need,
those who believe God's now living in them
will see God's return.
