Christ is Risen ( All is quiet all is sombre)

This is a hymn for Easter.

It was written by Peter Madden - no further information about him has been located.  It was first publish in the 20th Century Folk Hymnal, volume 3, and later in Hymns Old and New with Supplement (2012, Kevin Mayhew Ltd).  Also, a visitor to this website reports that it was used in a church in Durban between the 1980s and 2010.

It is set to an unnamed tune, also by Madden. This has a 2/2 time signature. In the key of G, the first few notes are G_ G G F E F E_ D_ with accompanying chords  G / Am / C / G.
