Prophet of Hope

This is a song of encouragement in response to God's call.

It may have been written by Australian Christian singer, song-writer, music editor / publisher and educator Patricia (Trish) Watts - although I have not been able to find any published sources to confirm this.

The song was recently requested by a visitor to this website.   This short page is posted to see if anyone can add more information about the song.

Lyrics

How can there be peace in this life?
Who can lend a hand in this land of strife?
Who will bring good news, who'll speak my word?
On whom can I depend, is it you my friend?

Chorus:
I've heard the Lord, He was calling me,
I heard Him call my name
Can it be true, can this really mean,
He's chosen me to be a prophet of hope?

People of old called on the Lord
They cried for help and He heard their call.
We here today, we can do the same
Pray to our God, whose love will not change.

We will bring new hope, will give our lives
God will be our strength, be our shield, our guide.
Gathered as one, people unite,
We will live in peace, we will live for life.
