My Lord He is a-Comin' Soon

This is a blues-style hymn for Advent. The words are based on 2 Peter 3:11-18, and echo John the Baptist's call to prepare the way of the Lord.

The words were written by Laura Winnen, and the tune by Jeff Cothran: a popular choir arrangement was made by Patti Drennan. It was originally released by Celebration International in 1975, and included in the Fisherfolk's 1980 LP, Cry Hosanna, and in the Community of Celebration's "Best of Celebrate" CD.

The unnamed tune written by Cothran has a 12/8 time signature. In the key of Em, the first few notes of the melody are B B B AG A G_ E.
