Mercy – Matt Redman and Jonas Myrin

This is a contemporary Christian music song about mercy, which is especially suitable for Divine Mercy Sunday and Easter-tide, ie the days / weeks immediately after Easter.

It was written by English evangelical worship leader and song-writer Matt Redman (b 1974) and Swedish-born singer, songwriter and producer Jonas Myrin (b 1982), and first released in 2014.  It was then included in Mission Praise, 2014 edition.

It is set to an unnamed tune, also by Redman and Myrin. This has a 4/4 time signature. In the key of C, the first few notes of the melody are CD E DC A EG A_ GF G  with accompanying chords  C / G / Dm7 / C.

Lyrics

The lyrics are copyright so cannot be reproduced here. But they are currently available with this video. A rough outline is:
1. I will kneel in the dust at the foot of the cross ...

Chorus:
Mercy, mercy, as endless as the sea.
I'll sing Your hallelujah for all eternity.

2. We will lift up the cup and the bread we will break ...

Bridge:
May I never lose the wonder,
Oh, the wonder of Your mercy.
May I sing Your hallelujah.
Hallelujah, Amen.

KEEP IN CASE ORIGINAL IS REMOVED, BUT DO NOT DISPLAY 1. I will kneel in the dust at the foot of the cross,
Where mercy paid for me.
Where the wrath I deserve, it is gone, it has passed.
Your blood has hidden me.

Chorus:
Mercy, mercy, as endless as the sea.
I'll sing Your hallelujah for all eternity.

2. We will lift up the cup and the bread we will break,
Remembering Your love.
We were fallen from grace, but You took on our shame
And nailed it to a cross.

Bridge:
May I never lose the wonder,
Oh, the wonder of Your mercy.
May I sing Your hallelujah.
Hallelujah, Amen.
