Calm me Lord as You Calmed the Storm

This is a short mantra-style hymn of petition for God's calm, using the image of Jesus calming the storm (Matthew 8:23–27, Mark 4:35–41, and Luke 8:22–25).

It was written by British Anglican priest and author, David Adam (1936-2020).

It is set to an unnamed tune by English composer Margaret Rizza. This has a 3/4 time signature. In the key of D, the first few notes of the melody are F_ F  AAA F_ E D_  with accompanying chords D / A / Bm.

Lyrics

Calm me, Lord, as you calmed the storm;
still me, Lord, keep me from harm.
Let all the tumult within me cease,
Lord, enfold me in your peace.

last time:
Calm me, Lord, as you calmed the storm;
still me, Lord, keep me from harm.
Let all the tumult within me cease,
Enfold me, Lord, in your peace.
