Jesus, Hope of the World

This is a gentle hymn about the Eucharist for Advent, which focuses on Jesus as the source of hope.

It was written by Deanna Light (b. 1967) and American Roman Catholic songwriter, arranger, producer, musician, recording artist, choir and band director, Paul A. Tate (b. 1968).

It was first published by in 2001 by World Library Publications, and is now available from GIA Publications.

It is set to an unnamed tune, also by Tate and White. This has a 3/4 time signature. In the key of Eb, the first few notes of the melody are FG_ FGB E__  FG) FGB B E_E_   with accompanying chords Bb / Eb / Bb / Eb / Ab /  Bb / Eb / Gm7 / Ab.
