I Lift my Hands to the Coming King (No Foreign Gods)

This is a worship chorus about Jesus' kingship, which uses his description of himself as "I Am".

It was written by South African pianist, singer-songwriter and worship-leader André Kempen, in 1989.  Videos on YouTube suggest that it is now popular in parts of Asia.

It is set to an unnamed tune, also by Kempen. This has a 4/4 time signature. In the key of E, the first few notes of the melody are B,B, E E_  z  B,B,B,F F_  z  B,B,G G_ with accompanying chords E / F#m / E / A.

If you know where to buy sheet-music for the song, please leave a message in the Comments box near the bottom of the page.

This song is not related to I Lift my Hands by Chris Tomlin.

Lyrics

The lyrics are copyright so cannot be reproduced here. But they are currently available on this website. A rough outline is:
I lift my hands to the coming King,
To the great I AM, to You I sing,
For You're the One who reigns inside my heart.

And I will serve no foreign god,
Nor any other treasure;
For You are my heart's desire,
Your Spirit without measure.
Unto Your name I will bring my sacrifice.

KEEP IN CASE ORIGINAL IS REMOVED, BUT DO NOT DISPLAY I lift my hands to the coming King,

For You're the One who reigns inside my heart.

And I will serve no foreign god,
Nor any other treasure;
For You are my heart's desire,
Your Spirit without measure.
Unto Your name I will bring my sacrifice.
