Lamb Of God (I exalt you, Jesus my sacrifice)

This is a short praise chorus, exalting Jesus, the redeemer and Lamb of God.

It was written by British Pentecostal-born teacher, church music director / worship-leader and Christian singer-songwriter, Chris Bowater (b. 1947), and first published in 1988 by Sovereign Lifestyle Music.

It was included in The British Worship Collection Revised and Enlarged, published by Kevin Mayhew Ltd, England in 2002 - and this is the only source of sheet music which has been found so far.

It is set to an unnamed tune, also by Bowater. This has a 4/4 time signature. In the key of A, the first few notes of the melody are B, CCC_  B, CCC_ C DDD_ C DDD_  with accompanying chords A / F#m / Bm7 / E7.

Lyrics

The lyrics are copyright so cannot be reproduced here. But they are currently available on this website. A rough outline is:
Lamb of God, Holy One
Jesus Christ, Son of God
Lifted up willingly to die;
That I, the guilty one, may know
The blood once shed, still freely flowing,
Still cleansing, still healing.

I exalt You, Jesus my sacrifice
I exalt You my Redeemer and my Lord
I exalt You, worthy Lamb of God
And in honour I bow down before Your throne.
