Christ is my Hope (Christ is my joy)

This is a hymn about expressing hope in God and a desire to trust him while witnessing to Christ. The chorus is in English, and the verses in Italian (no translation has been found so far)

It was written by Italian composer, Roman Catholic priest, theologian and choir-director Marco Frisina (b. 1954) for the 2025 Jubilee of young people, and premiered at the IV International Meeting of Choirs in the Vatican on June 8, 2024. It was first published by Italian company, Paoline Editoriale Audiovisivi in 2024.

The song is set to an unnamed tune, also by Frisina . This has a 4/4 time signature. In the key of F, the first few notes of the melody are CCC F_ GFG A_ Bcd c_ A F BAF G_ with accompanying chords F / Dm / C / F / Bb / F / Gm / C. The originally published version was scored for orchestra, but a simpler score is also available (links below).

Lyrics

The lyrics are copyright so cannot be reproduced here. But they are currently available on this website. A rough outline is:

Chorus:
Christ is my hope, Christ is my joy
Christ is alive, new light for the world.
We'll bring his joy, we'll bring his peace
Al-lelu-ia, al-le-lu-ia
