Lyrics

There were twelve disciples Jesus called to help him:
Simon Peter, Andrew, James, his brother John,
Philip, Thomas, Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus,
Thaddeus, Simon, Judas, and Bartholomew.
He has called us, too. He has called us, too.
We are His disciples, I am one and you!
He has called us, too. He has called us, too.
We are His disciples, I am one and you!

  1. In the early 1960's I remember visiting my Aunt & Uncle's Methodist church. We sang this song several times while I was there. I loved it and have sung it from time to time over the next 58 years. The words are mostly the same, though the last line we sang was, "...and His work we'll do!"
