It was written by English poet and hymn-writer Frances Ridley Havergal
(1836-1879). It has not been widely published, but is associated in some English-speaking
countries with the Divine Mercy devotion.
With meter of 3 13 13 13 13 13, it is almost always set to the tune THAXTED by English composer Gustav Holst (1874-1934).
Whom yet unseen we love,
O Name of might and favour
All other names above !
O bringer of salvation
Who wondrously hath wrought
Thyself the revelation
Of love beyond all thought !
We worship Thee and bless Thee!
To Thee alone we sing!
We praise Thee and confess Thee,
Our gracious Lord and King!
In Thee all fullness dwell-eth,
All grace and power divine !
The glory that excell-eth
O Son of God is Thine !
O grant the consumation
Of this our song above
In endless adoration
And everlasting love!
Then shall we praise and bless Thee
Where perfect praises ring,
And evermore confess Thee
Our Saviour and our King!
With meter of 3 13 13 13 13 13, it is almost always set to the tune THAXTED by English composer Gustav Holst (1874-1934).
