Our Saviour Jesus Christ Proclaimed (Our hearts are longing for you Lord)

This is a hymn of petition for faith.  The text is based on various passages from Matthew.

It was written by English Roman Catholic musician, teacher and hymn-writer Estelle White, and is included in the 1994 and 2012 editions of the Celebration Hymnal for Everyone published by McCrimmon Publications, and this is the only-known source of sheet music for it.

1 Our Saviour Jesus Christ proclaimed that when we gather in his name he would be there to love and guide, lead us towards the Father’s side. Chorus:Our hearts are longing for you, Lord, give us the faith to trust your word. He told us, ‘Ask, you will receive, seek and you’ll find if you believe. Knock at the door of love and truth and we shall open it for you.’ 3 His hands brought healing to the blind, his words brought ease to troubled minds. He said his friends could do the same by invocation of his name. 4 He came to earth in form of man to give to us his Father’s plan. We are the branches, he the vine, we too can share his life divine.
