It was originally released by Spectrum Publications, Melbourne, Australia in 1978, and later included on the album The Lord Delight, which they released in 1981, where it was sung by Roman Catholic priest and Carmelite friar Paul Gurr.
Later it was included in Boniwell's self-published collection (CD and songbook) Spirit of Love, which was released in 2000, and is still available. This, or the Australian As One Voice volumes 1 & 2 combined edition, are the only known sources of sheet music for the song.
The song is set to an unnamed tune, also by Boniwell. This has a 4/4 time signature. In the key of G, the first few notes are B,C D_ DD E z GE E_ with accompanying chords G / C / G

Lyrics
The lyrics are copyright so cannot be reproduced here. But they are currently available on the SixMaddens website with the author's permission. A rough outline is:1 Will you give me your life forever? ....
Chorus:
Will you love me as I have loved you?
Will you live with me the darkness as I die?
For the moon and the stars will be gone like the night,
And the sun will be shining on you.
2 Like the purest of gold in the furnace ...
3 Can you walk in the footprints of silence ....
