This is a catchy praise song, which is particularly appropriate for Palm Sunday but can be used throughout the year. The words are based on Luke 19:38.
It was written by English worship leader and songwriter - Pentecostal-trained, charismatic church leader and later ordained Church of England deacon - Ian Smale who is better known as Ishmael or Deacon Ish (ref).
The song was first recorded in 1993, and is managed by Smale's company, Glorie Music.

1 Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord.
Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord.
Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord.
Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord.
Chorus:
Peace in Heaven and glory in the highest
When mouths stay closed, the stones will cry out;
Peace in Heaven and glory in the highest
When mouths stay closed the stones will cry out.

3 Triumphant is the King who comes in the name of the Lord
