This is a hymn about Jesus as the source of all. The words are based on a prayer of St Francis of Assisi.
It was written by American born and educated Roman Catholic religious (Franciscan) brother, liturgist and inculturation expert (Vietnamese, Spanish), Rufino Zaragoza, OFM, (b. 1957), and first released in 1990. A translation to Spanish (Mi Dios y Mi Todo) released in 1998 and Vietnamese (Chúa Là Gia Nghiệp Con) in 2000.
It is set to an unnamed tune, also by Zaragoza. This has a 3/4 time signature. In the key of D, the first few notes of the melody are D_ F E D B, D_ with accompanying chords D / G / Bm7 / Em7.
