You are the Vine - Daniels / Rigby

This is a short worship song.  It is based on John 15:5, which presents the image of God as the vine and God's people as branches.

It was written by American Christian rock-band musicians Danny Daniels and Randy Rigby, and first published in 1985 Mercy / Vineyard Publishing.  Hymn books that it was in included hymn books:

• Songs of Fellowship volume 1, Kingsway Music, England, 1991
• Complete Mission Praise, Marshall Pickering, London, England 1999
• Singing the Faith, Hymns Ancient & Modern for the Methodist Church, London, England, 2011.

The song is set to an unnamed tune, also by Daniels and Rigby. This has a 4/4 time signature. In the key of D, the first few notes of the melody are D_ A, F E_ /  F_ D A AG D with accompanying chords D / Em / D / G / D.

No stand-alone published sheet music has been located, but the song is included in Vineyard Music Classics: Top 101 Worship Songs Of The Vineyard (available from Amazon or SheetMusicPlus -  link below).
