It is regarded as
children's song, because it uses the word "bullied" instead of persecuted, and has a
"silly" image in the chorus ("shake, shake, shake like a salt-shaker"). But the words contain a serious reflection on the Beatitudes, and
the song can be used in informal settings with all age groups.
The song is set to an unnamed tune, also by Mason and Mandi M. This has
a 4/4 time signature. In the key of Y, the first few notes of the melody are
DE C_ DE F F E C with accompanying chords C / F / C. A
chord chart and lead sheet are available from the Brook Hills Church website
(links below).
It is not the same song as The Beatitudes Song by The McKameys -
even though Google seems to have linked the two.

Lyrics
The lyrics are copyright so cannot be reproduced here. But they are currently available on this website. A rough outline is:1. Blessed are the poor in spirit
Those who see the sin in their hearts,
Blessed are the ones who are weeping
Cause sin has torn the whole world apart.
2. Blessed are the meek and humble,
God will freely give them all things.
Blessed are the ones who are hungry,
And thirst for justice and wait on their King.
Chorus
We are the salt of the earth,
We’re going to shake, shake, shake like a salt-shaker .
We are the light of the world,
We’re going to shine, shine, shine ‘til the night’s no more ,
We’re going to shine, shine, shine ‘til the night’s no more.
3. Blessed are the merciful
Whose sins are forgiven and so they can forgive.
Blessed are the pure in heart
God will show His face to them.
4. Blessed are the ones who make peace
Loving others with the Savior’s love.
Blessed are those bullied for their faith
Great in God’s kingdom will be their reward.
