Blessed Be the Lord God Almighty / Father in Heaven how we Love You

This is a 1980s-style worship-chorus style hymn of praise.

It was written by American Baptist minister's son, evangelical Christian worship leader, musician and song-writer Bob Fitts (b. 1955), while he was working with Youth With A Mission in Hawaii. It was first published in 1984 by Scripture in Song (a div. of Integrity Music, Inc.).

Early publications eg Songs of Fellowship in 1995, had only one verse and the chorus. It is not clear if the extra verses were written by Fitts, or added by someone else. Usually only one of them is used.

It is set to an unnamed tune, also by Fitts. This has a 4/4 time signature. In the key of C, the first few notes of the melody are G A BB G c_ B_ c BA A_ with accompanying chords G / C / Em / G / F / Dm.

We lift your Name in all the earth.
May your kingdom, be established in our praises,
As your people declare your mighty works.

Blessed be the Lord God Almighty
Who was and is, and is, to come.

Who reigns forever more.

2. Oh God most Holy we adore You,
We lay our all before Your throne.
May the fragrance of Your presence be about us
As we purpose to worship You alone!

3. Father of mercy, be exalted,
May Jesus’ name be lifted high;
For his sacrifice of love has won my pardon,
And his resurrection power gives me life.
