It includes 48 hymns, all in English, and most in contemporary language and in the folk / popular genre, with a focus on positive Christian truths and read-world events.
The hymns are organised by season, including both church-calendar seasons (Advent, Christmas, Lent, Holy Week, Easter, etc) and some secular seasons like harvest and remembrance. Each season also includes a small scripture quote relevant to it.
Each song is presented with a melody line and guitar chords, with all verses set in a block further down the page (ie the verses are not interspersed with the notation).
The book edited by Peter D Smith of Sheffield, and includes a foreword by him on the inner cover. It does not have an ISBN number. The cover price when the book was printed was 7 shillings and 6 pence.
Now out-of-print, copies are sometimes available from Amazon (UK / Ireland).
